JMU Duke Dog Classic Report

On Sunday, February 22nd our 8 man squad fell to 7 after the 2nd game due to the leg cramps of Jim Clark. Nicky Bell was named tournament MVP, made the all tourney team, and led the tourney in scoring. Jake Mages went 6-6 from the free throw line at the end of the VT game to seal it. Nathan Baugh started for the first time against Wake and played brilliantly the rest of the day. Great playing Sunday after a lackluster performance on Saturday.

Championship Game: We were down with less than one min left when Gerry Carey steals the ball and throws down a dunk to tie the game. Jmu comes down the court and hits a two to go up by two with 19 sec left. After a time out Will Ingersoll inbounds the ball to Jake Mages who gave it right back. Will sprints down the court, steps back and drains a three to go up by 1 with 6 sec left. After a time out JMU sprints down the court, puts up a shot, misses but they call a rediculous loose ball foul with .9 sec left. The JMU shooter misses the front end of a 1-and-1.....We Da Champs!
