UPS and FedEx Overnight Shipping Information

UPS On-Call Shipping Charges

Effective January 1, 2010, UPS began charging a $6.00 fee for each on-call pickup request. There are a few options that may help keep these pickup charges in check.

  • 1. You can arrange to pay a weekly service charge of $7.50. UPS will stop by for pickups once each weekday at a prearranged time and location whether you have anything that needs to be picked up or not. You must let the Office of Procurement know if you wish to choose this option.
  • 2. You can elect to have one person take care of all the UPS shipping for your department or building. The first shipment that you request is the only shipment where you would check the "Schedule Pickup" box. This means that for any additional same-day pickups you would not check the "Schedule Pickup" box and that all outgoing shipments would need to be picked up at the same time and location. When you check the "Schedule Pickup" box, you are given the option to choose the time and location for packages to be picked up by the UPS driver.
  • 3. There is a UPS drop-off box in the Post Office at the Sadler Center. You will need to put your package(s) in this drop-off box before 3:00 PM on weekdays. The UPS Store and Staples also have drop-off boxes.

E&I Contract:  FedEx Information

If you are interested in reviewing FedEx information, log in at www.eandi.org for general information and FAQ's.  Choose FedEx Contract.  For pricing information you will need to request an ID and Password if you are a first time visitor.  Once logged in, select the FedEx Corp. listing to go to the FedEx overview page.  Select "Discount-How to Order" for contract detail and shipping rates.  You may also visit the Office of Procurement to review the contract.

FedEx waives pick-up fees against the E&I contract only and does apply a fuel surcharge which is subject to monthly adjustment.
