Furniture

Policy

The Code of Virginia requires William and Mary to purchase all types of furniture from Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE). The College must use VCE unless VCE does not manufacture the goods (or equivalent) required, or grants a release to William and Mary for the purchase.

To purchase non-VCE furniture, a written release must be obtained from VCE through the Office of Procurement. The following information must be sent to Kathy Mabe at [[w|klmabe]]

  • quote, product information, picture, etc
  • written justification as to why you are not purchasing from VCE

Procurement completes the release form based on the justification you provide, and sends it to VCE for approval. Once VCE has approved your request Procurement will return a copy of you to proceed with your purchase. Departments shall include the VCE release number in the comments section of the eVA order. Departments shall also maintain the VCE release form in your department records for auditing purposes. If VCE denies the release, Procurement will contact you immediately.

VCE Information

Information on most of the goods and services available from VCE is contained in the Virginia Correctional Enterprises catalog. www.govce.net. Currently, the on-line catalog does not show all the products available from VCE. For specific information, departments should contact the VCE representative for the College, Harlan Lewis at Harlan.Lewis@vadoc.virginia.gov
