Training Intervention Procedures for Servers (TIPS)
TIPS is a national server education and risk management program. This two-hour program reviews W&M's alcohol policy, intoxication factors, behavioral cues of intoxication, and intervention techniques using lecture, videos, and participatory activities. Each participant receives a TIPS manual and can receive a TIPS University certification.
Student organizations are required to have members TIPS trained in order to register social events with alcohol. For more information on the alcohol policy, see the Campus Alcohol Policy. For more information on TIPS requirements for student organizations, contact the Student Activities Office at (757) 221-3300.
