Reflection on Ghana

but we're under the same sky.
suspicious searchings
for the key to this foreignly familiar topography --
wanting to revalue trees
and reroot values.
how do we change when we cross oceans?,
i wonder, now
as i resist the urge to dissociate in interstate solution.
to keep visceral and present, there's nothing like a bumpy road and sweaty brow, waving children and pygmy goats.
but here i am now, microscoping and telescoping, telescoping and microscoping, at times kaleidoscoping.
not really feeling here at all.
