Tuesday August 29, 2017 from 9-1 pm 

 A service program just for incoming students and built into your Orientation schedule. Join one of ten community projects each designed to show you a unique element of Williamsburg while having an impact through service. You will volunteer alongside other incoming students, upperclassmen leaders, and community members.

Registration is open May 1-August 11
2017 SHOW Day projects will be finalized in the summer. Below are the projects for 2016, many of which will return for 2017. 
2016 Projects
  • A Head Start in the Classroom- Prepare classrooms while learning about early childhood education
  • Nurture Nature at Waller Mill Park -Complete trail maintenance and experience Williamsburg's natural resources 
  • SHOW Support with The Arc of Greater Williamsburg- Complete craft projects with adults with special needs 
  • Activism in Action -Share your passion and learn about activism in Williamsburg
  • Growing Knowledge at Mattey's Garden- Prepare this school garden for the new year while learning how it's used for science education
  • (Re)Create History with Colonial Williamsburg Foundation- Make history happen while taking on a painting project with CW
  • Animal Camp: Supporting Humane Education- Join Heritage Humane Society in sharing the joy of animals with local youth
  • Fight the Invaders: Clean-Up of the Crim Dell - Remove invasive species while learning about environmental restoration with Student Environmental Action Committee
  • Know Your History: Preservation Work with W&M Lemon Project - Visit Swem's Special Collections to sort and tag primary documents of W&M's history. 

SHOW Day begins at 9am in Sadler Center. Incoming students will be broken into smaller groups with two upperclassmen leaders and provided transportation to a local service project. Everyone will return to campus for lunch and reflection and the program ends at 1pm Don't worry, it's built into your Orientation schedule, so you won't be missing out on other sessions.
