Description

The Williamsburg Farmers Market is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide the community with healthy regionally produced food in a fun and educational venue, while stimulating the farm economy, preserving agricultural land, and reviving the historic role of the WiIliamsburg town center as a place for markets.

Need

A variety of volunteer opportunities are available year-round, including activities on market days at Merchants Square or in the office at 202 Quarterpath Road. Opportunities include but are not limited to: assisting customers at the Market, setting up and taking down materials and equipment at the Market, creating posters and other advertising materials, posting flyers at various Williamsburg locations, general office and computer work, organizing and/or assisting at special events. WFM seeks volunteers who enjoy working outdoors for set-up or breakdown at the Saturday Markets on Duke of Gloucester St. in Merchants Square. Set-up (6:30- 8:00 am) involves putting up tents, tables, signs and posters, and assisting vendors set-up as needed. Breakdown (11:30 am– 12:30pm) involves taking down and stowing tents, tables, equipment, signs, posters; storage room is located nearby behind shops.
