Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center

Disability Services / Health & Medical Relief

Description

Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center provides therapeutic riding and other horse-related activities to special needs individuals in a caring and safe environment.

Need

Volunteers assist our program on an ongoing basis in our weekly therapeutic riding lessons by serving as sidewalkers and horse leaders. Volunteers can also assist on a regular or one-time basis by doing barn work to maintain our 22 acre farm. We often have special projects and fund-raisers where we rely on volunteer support to do a variety of office tasks. Volunteers must have a heart for working with people with special needs, be physically fit, be mature and safety conscious, able to follow directions and take initiative, and enjoy working around horses. The minimum age requirement to volunteer in our programs is 14.
