Description

Big Brothers/Big Sisters mission is to provide one-on-one friendship with at-risk children in the Greater Williamsburg Area.

Need

Volunteers are needed for the following two programs: CORE is a mentoring program for children between 6 and 14 who are being raised by one or no natural parents. Student volunteers are asked to commit between 3 and 5 hours per week for a minimum of 3 school semesters with the child. A six week screening process is required and transportation is essential. SCOPE is a mentoring program within 5 local elementary schools. Volunteers are required to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week during the child’s school hours for the duration of the year. Volunteers are also needed for various fund-raising activities as well as office assistance.
