MLK Social Justice & Service Program

Help us build the beloved community.

Join William and Mary in honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by working for social justice through service with community partners in Williamsburg, and Petersburg, VA.  Help us build the beloved community.

The Office of Community Engagements will be hosting a variety of service projects in Williamsburg that will allow participants to not only have a positive impact on the local community but also to reflect on how their service fits into King's greater vision of a beloved community.  MLK Weekend falls the first week after Spring classes have started.  All volunteers will be gathering Sunday Jan. 20th from 5-6:30pm (Dinner provided) to discuss Dr. King's legacy and prepare for their service projects the following morning.  On Monday the 21st, volunteers will serve from 8:30-1:30 (Lunch provided).

Participating is a great opportunity for your organization to come together, represent William and Mary,  have a positive impact on the community, and honor the legacy of Dr. King.
