Service Days

Students join Habitat ReStore volunteers to build new shelving during the Martin Luther King, Jr., service day.The Office of Community Engagement sponsors several special service days that offer the opportunity for William & Mary students to participate in service as part of a group.

To kick off  the year, Students Helping Out Williamsburg (or SHOW Day) brings incoming students together in service.  Make a Difference Day in October, and Spring into Action Day in March, offer student organizations (or just groups of friends) the opportunity to sign up for a project together.

Each Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we participate in service projects with nonprofit partners while learning about the legacy of Dr. King through our MLK Social Justice & Service Program.

Each service day is led by a Project Leader, who is trained to facilitate orientation, education and reflection, so volunteers get the most out of their experience.
