The Williamsburg/James City County Dropout Prevention Program focuses on the early identification of at-risk students as a means to begin prevention and intervention services which promote school attendance and successful performance.
Volunteer opportunities include tutoring students from grades 1-12 in a variety of academic areas. Tutoring takes place in a one-on-one and/or small group setting. Volunteers are also needed to be mentors to public school students of all ages; scheduling for both activities is flexible. Volunteers are also needed to serve as tutors in W/JCC?s Adult and Continuing Education Program (held in Williamsburg's Community Library in the evenings from 6-9) and the High School GED Program (located in the Student Services Building). Volunteers are also needed to assist with the off-site Lafayette High School's Alternative Education Program.
