BackgroundCristyn graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2016 with a degree in Anthropology. During her time as a student she pursued an interest of applying holistic anthropological perspectives to solve community and global development issues. She has been an active participant in college based community engagement programs since her freshman year and became involved with the Office of Community Engagement after transferring in 2013. As an undergraduate Cristyn held leadership positions in International Branch Out program William and Mary Haiti Compact and the tutoring program College Partnership for Kids. After graduating from the college Cristyn pursued her interests in development and education as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar. As a volunteer, she taught English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) to grades 6, 7, 8, and 10 in a rural school and worked with promoting education and gender equality in the classroom and community.
Cristyn is now excited to once again be working in William and Mary’s Office of Community Engagement as the Education Programs Fellow.
