Faculty Member, Hendrix, Contributes Paper on Food Security to High Level Expert Forum

Institute researcher and principal investigator on the Project on Environment, Food, and Conflict (ENFOCO), Cullen Hendrix and co-author Henk-Jan Brinkman were commissioned to write a paper for discussion at the High Level Expert Forum on Food Insecurity in Protracted Crises in Rome, Italy in September 2012. The paper, entitled “Food insecurity and conflict dynamics - Causal linkages and Complex Feedbacks,” focused on the complex interrelationships between food insecurity and political instability, and highlighted productive ways in which the international community can work to enhance human security in the context of complex crises like Darfur and Somalia.
