FAQs about the Wireless Network

How do I connect to the William and Mary wireless network?

Here is information about connecting to the wireless network.

I use a Mac.  I just changed my password and now I cannot connect to the wireless.

You need to clear-out your keychain.  Turn-off your Airport.  Click on your Desktop.  Select Go at the top of the screen > Utilities > Keychain Access.  In the Categories section, select Passwords.  Delete your Network Password (files.campus.wm.edu).

If this does not work, you may also need to delete your user profile.  To do so, go to System Preferences > Airport > Advanced.  Select the tab 802.1X.  You will see a list of User Profiles.  Select your W&M Profile (W-M_Wireless...) and hit the minus button to remove.  Click OK and Apply.

I have a new wireless printer.  How do I get it connected to the W&M network?

If you are a student, you will need to authenticate the printer to the network.  Here are directions for connecting your printer.  For departmental or office printers, contact the Technology Support Center for assistance in connecting your printer.

How do I hook-up my video gaming system to the W&M network?

Like wireless printers, you will need to authenticate the game system to connect it to the network.
