A simple change in server address will correct a problem for OS X Mavericks users.
After the recent upgrade to our network storage system, we have found that Mac computers running OS X Mavericks (the latest operating system to be released for Macs) are unable to save files to the network storage drives. Though engineers are investigating a more permanent solution, we have found a simple work-around that can be used in the meantime. Follow these steps:
- Disconnect the storage drive
- Connect to the server using "cifs" instead of "smb" at the beginning of the server address.
