How to Care for Your W&M Express Card

The W&M Express  Card is a very important part of student life. Your Express Card does not hold your student account, but it does communicate with other systems on campus and gives the cardholder comprehensive student access. Without an intact, properly functioning card, you will be unable to enter your dorm, check out library books, make Express deposits or purchases, get meals, or get into specified academic buildings. It is very important that you are conscientious about card care.  

• Do not carry your card in your pants pocket unless it is in a wallet or some other type of protective case.
• Do not leave your ID card on your food tray. You will end up throwing it away.
• Do not wash your card
• Do not store your card where it will touch other magnetic stripes.
• Do not leave your card in the heat; your card will melt and cease to function properly.
• Do not bend your card.
