The William and Mary-sponsored Student Insurance Plan is a fully insured PPO plan underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company. Each year a UHC StudentResources identification card is generated but in 2013 with the Go Green efforts, these ID cards are no longer mailed automatically. The student is sent an email notifying them to login to My Account (UHCSR online services) to view or print your insurance ID card. The insured student can also request a permanent ID card be mailed through My Account. On the same letter as the insurance ID card is a separate UnitedHealth Allies health discount program ID card. You will need hard copies of both cards either by printing them yourself or by requesting them via mail. If you do not receive and email about your enrollment and insurance ID cards, you should contact the [[student.insurance, Student Insurance Coordinator]] by email or phone at (757) 221-2978 for assistance.
You should carry your ID card with you at all times. Please present your student health insurance ID card each time you receive medical services to ensure proper eligibility verification and claims processing. Medical services include visits to physicians, hospitals, laboratories and other medical facilities, including the Student Health Center, as well as visits to mental health providers and pharmacy services. Please be sure that the provider includes your unique 7-digit StudentResources ID number, printed on the front of your card, when submitting claims or making inquiries regarding your eligibility. You may wish to point out to medical providers that ALL inquiries regarding coverage, copays and claims MUST be directed to UnitedHealthcare StudentResources, which is a stand-alone division of UHC. The UHCSR Customer Service toll-free number is listed on the front of your ID card and the claims mailing address is listed on the back of your ID card.
