Info about the insurance requirement & W&M Plan
Full Description
The College requires all full-time students admitted Fall 2006 or after and all F-1 & J-1 International students to have health insurance coverage throughout the school year as a condition of enrollment. These students will be enrolled in and billed for the College-endorsed Student Insurance Plan UNLESS proof of other adequate health insurance coverage is furnished by completing an Insurance Waiver Request. A Waiver Request must be furnished EACH YEAR by the posted deadline. It is the student's responsibility to verify whether or not the charge has been billed to your student account correctly. Please check your tuition bill and contact the [[sthlth, Student Health Center]], 757-221-4386, immediately if there is a billing error.
The W&M-sponsored Student Insurance Plan is a comprehensive, fully-insured PPO plan intended to provide health care coverage at a reasonable price for professional services obtained both from and outside the Student Health Center. The UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR) plan is a one-year, term policy that begins each year on 8/1 and ends on 7/31. The plan provides 24-hours coverage anywhere in the US as well as while traveling or studying abroad. You can find all the policy documents on UHCSR's W&M plan page.
Please see the Student Insurance pages for more information about the insurance requirement and waiver or enrollment information and for more information about the W&M Student Insurance Plan. If you still have questions, contact the [[student.insurance, Student Insurance Coordinator]], 757-221-2978.
