What's with these UIFI scholarships I keep hearing about?

So you may have heard about these scholarships the IFC and CPH are offering for Greek men and women to go to the Undergraduate Inter-fraternity Institute, or UIFI.  You may be asking yourself; what is that and why would I ever want to go to an institute after I finish classes for the year.  I didn’t ask myself those questions because I was a freshman at the time, and really needed to get involved far more in Greek life.  I took the chance, got the scholarship, and eventually found myself in one of the most surreal environments ever.

For lack of a better term, UIFI is kind of like going to a weeklong summer camp for Greeks.  You may find yourself surrounded by your brothers or sisters from other schools or be the lone KA, as it was in my experience, but the letters on your chest don’t really matter at UIFI.  Everyone comes together to go through these activities and talks that help you to look at the big picture.  UIFI shows you just how much you can get from the Greek experience if you do it correctly, and points out what we need to do to remain relevant on campus.  I can say unequivocally that UIFI completely changed my perspective on Greek life and gave me the tools to enjoy my experience so much more.

So the challenge goes out to you.  Are you ready to take that first unknowing step and totally immerse yourself in all things Greek for a week in the summer?  If you are, check out the scholarships for UIFI being offered by IFC and CPH or look into any scholarships that your national organization may offer to go (a lot of them do this).
