Bid Signing Day
| October 14, 2009This is just a short post to let everyone in on the magic of bid signing day. For most of the guys who signed their bid that day, it's all sort of a surreal college-life haze, but for those of us sitting on the other side of the table, seeing everyone come in and bringing new life into our Greek community, it's just awesome.
Personally, I had a lot of fun. We cranked some jams, talked to at least 140 new members, got to see what the future of each chapter was going to look like, chased brothers out of the bid signing room... it was good. The system now is pretty efficient, for those who weren't there, in that the signer walks in one end, pays, signs, receives card, signs again, and then leaves at the other end of the room. A well-oiled machine, right? Well, you forgot that we are dealing with prospective fraternity men, so while the machine may be good, we will inevitably find some way to rust it up. But all in all, it went really smoothly, and a lot of guys left bid signing day really excited about the next seven weeks of the new member process, and perhaps the rest of their lives as brothers.
