Plan & Prepare

Step 1: Send W&M Any Transcripts and AP/IB scores.

Make sure you send the final copies of any college/university transcripts and AP/IB scores to the University Registrar's office. Final high school transcripts should be mailed to the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Step 2: Check Transfer Credit Evaluation

Generate a degree audit in Banner to view assigned transfer credit. Transfer credit evaluations will begin once official transcripts have been received and will be ongoing. You may be asked to supply course descriptions and syllabi which may delay some postings. If you have questions you can contact the Transfer Services Coordinator at [[gmhindman]] or (757) 221-2823.

**NOTE: Bring copies of your transcripts with you when you come arrive on-campus in August. It is likely that not all of your transfer work will have been evaluated yet when you arrive. Transcripts from your other school and AP/IB scores will help us provide you with better advice on course selection and registration.

Step 3: Complete the New Student Inventory (due June 16)

Complete the New Student Inventory. This will ensure that you are matched with a pre-major faculty advisor who will assist you with advising and the registration process.

Step 4: Complete College Studies (by August 4)

College Studies is an innovative course designed to introduce you to degree requirements, a Peer Advisor, campus resources, and the W&M course registration process. Students who accept admission and make a tuition deposit will be enrolled in College Studies on July 6. This course provides academic advising information so you can schedule and prepare for registration.

Step 5: Learn about your degree requirements

Review Strategies for Choosing Courses and the Undergraduate Course Catalog.

Step 6: Online Class Schedule and Open Course List

Class schedules are available in Banner via myWM. You can search for classes by using the Class Schedule — the Detailed Schedule of Classes menu option (from Banner select Student > Registration). You can also use the open course list to search for open classes and see current and projected enrollment.
