Creating a barrier-free environment.
The Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with faculty and university offices to offer a variety of services for William & Mary students who have disabilities — undergraduate, graduate, full-time, part-time, unclassified — with reasonable and appropriate accommodation for the duration of their time at the university.
If you are seeking any housing-related accommodation on the basis of disability you should register with Student Accessibility Services no later than June 15, 2017 for the fall semester. Residence Life will be notified if your accommodation is approved.
Reasonable and appropriate accommodation is often determined through a flexible, interactive process involving the student and SAS staff. Final responsibility for selection of the most appropriate accommodation rests with William & Mary. Early consultation regarding accommodation is essential whenever questions of compliance and/or funding for accommodation are involved. Late requests will be honored to the best of our ability, but could result in delay, substitution, or inability to complete. To ensure adequate review and consultation, new students should submit any accommodation requests by July 19 (at least six weeks prior to the start of the academic semester).
We encourage you to review our links to state agencies and Virginia's Wounded Warrior Program, which provides services for veterans and their families. If you do not see what you need, please do not hesitate to contact us.
