It is with great excitement that FYE announces the annual Fall Orientation Student Speaker competition!
The selected student will have the opportunity to address new freshmen, transfer students, and their families during the 2014 Fall Orientation Welcome Session in William and Mary Hall. During this speech, the speaker will have the opportunity to address what new students can do to make their time at William and Mary outstanding.
Any continuing undergraduate student at the College is eligible to apply. Application submissions are due by 5 PM on Friday, April 4, 2014 to firstname.lastname@example.org and should contain the following information:
(1) Written responses to each of the below questions:
- Why do you wish to be the student speaker at New Student Orientation? This should include any information that would be pertinent to your candidacy for this honor. (1 page limit)
- What inspiration will you offer to new students as they begin orientation and their career at William and Mary? (500-word limit)
(2) Names and phone numbers of two faculty or administrators who would be willing to serve as references. Your references should be able to speak to your thoughtfulness and ability to verbally communicate and articulate your ideas.
