What is the First Year Experience?

The Office of First Year Experience is responsible for creating an engaging transition experience where new students, both first-time in college and transfer students, are empowered to optimally thrive at William and Mary.

A hallmark of this transition experience is Orientation, a program that occurs before the fall (August 22-26, 2014) and spring (January 10-14, 2014) semesters.

W&M's Orientation is run by one of the largest student volunteer staffs in the country and introduces new students to many aspects of the College community including student life, academic policies, and the honor code.  The goal of each Orientation program is to make our students feel right at home from the moment they set foot on campus.

Our hand-selected staff looks forward to meeting and working with you soon!
