Agency Risk Management and Internal Control Standards (ARMICS)

William & Mary's Internal Controls Compliance Officer is responsible for the university's compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia's ARMICS directives.

ARMICS requires each Agency Head to have agency management document the agency's annual assessment of internal control strengths, weaknesses, and risks over the recording of financial transactions in the General Ledger, compliance with the agency's financial reporting requirements, compliance with laws and regulations, and stewardship over the Commonwealth's assets. Agencies are also required to develop risk mitigation plans and correct identified control deficiencies.

The Internal Controls Compliance Officer is part of Financial Operations located on the second floor of Williamsburg Professional Center, which is at 1310 Mt. Vernon Avenue, directly across Monticello Avenue from the university's School of Education. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
