Recycling Guidance

Acceptable Materials for Single Stream Waste

Remember to use the recycling containers provided for your convenience. If plastic bags are used to collect your recycling, make sure that they are clear, preferably biodegradable, or see through; black and green opaque plastic bags will be disposed of as normal trash.

Allowable material:

Plastic containers with necks (#1 or #2 only)

Aluminum, steel, and tin cans

Glass bottles

Newspapers

Flattened Small Cardboard Boxes Magazines

Cereal Boxes (w/o inserts)

Catalogs

Writing paper

Office Paper

Phone books

Wrapping paper

Forms

Paper Bags

Invoices

Unallowable Material:

Paper or cardboard soiled by food wastes (including pizza boxes)

Plastic bags

Plastic containers with numbers other than #1 and #2

Batteries

Motor Oil

Paint

Wood Products

Yard Waste

Printer cartridges
