Campus Schedule of Electric Outages - Spring Break

The electrical outages that had been originally scheduled for early January will take place during the week of Spring Break (March 7-15).

Full Description

These limited outages 30-60 minutes, are required by Dominion Power to complete a reconfiguration of the campus electrical system. The actual work will consist isolating parts of the system safely and splicing new cable to existing. This work that was requested by W&M, will provide essential capacity and reliability for the buildings located on Landrum Drive while providing estimated cost savings of $130,000 per year.

Please note that these outages have been confined to two days and we have provided a time window for each outage to occur. Unforeseen circumstances and safety procedures make it difficult to provide a more exact schedule. For critical buildings, emergency generators are expected to perform as intended and will be monitored by staff.
