The Cascade Content Management System

The Facilities Management Web pages reside on a content management server (CMS) called Cascade.   This server contains most of the web sites at William and Mary.  Access to edit pages is granted by the Creative Services team.  Training and help to use Cascade are available through Creative Services.

The [[borawl, Systems Administrator]] will provide the following services:

  • Create new web pages.
  • Modify web pages.
  • Upload of files.

Note: The Systems Administrator only has privileges to Facilities Management web pages.  Contact [[creative, Creative Services]] regarding any changes outside of the Facilities Management web site.

What you need to know about uploading documentation (Word, PDF, Excel, etc.)

The Facilities Management web site contains documentation that is helpful to users inside and outside of the department. Uploading documents is handled by the Systems Administrator, but the following is required :

  • Please ensure that documents are in the desired format before submitting them to the Systems Administrator for upload.  Modifications, corrections and format changes to documents will not be performed.  For example, if you want your file to be in a pdf format before it is uploaded, it must be in a pdf format when you submit it for upload.  If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the [[borawl, Systems Administrator]].
  • File names must follow a proper naming convention.  Remove any spaces from file names.
