Patricia M. Volp

Dean of Students 

Hello! I hail from Robbinsdale, Minnesota, just outside Minneapolis. My BA is from the University of Minnesota in photojournalism, and my doctorate is from Indiana University in Higher Education with cognates in College Student Development and Organizational Behavior. My work experiences have been in Admissions, Student Volunteer Services and Career Services, and I have had the privilege to serve as Dean of Students at two colleges before coming to William & Mary in 1997.

I am as excited about working with college students as I was when I began my career - every day is a new day, a new student, a new challenge. William & Mary is a fun and fulfilling place to be, due to the diverse life experiences and innumerable talents of the students. My favorite time of year is late August when all the new and returning students arrive!

My "after school" activities include time with family, friends and cats, photography, traveling, playing bridge and Sudoko, sailing, golf and reading.
