S. Mark Sikes

I was born in Camden, South Carolina and completed a bachelors degree in political science from the University of South Carolina. After graduation I worked at Coastal Carolina University in the Office of Student Activities & Orientation and other jobs in Myrtle Beach before  I realized I wanted to start a career in Student Affairs. I received a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech and worked at Towson University and Gettysburg College before arriving at William & Mary to be the Associate Dean of Students and pursue a Ph.D. My job keeps me on my toes, and I love every minute of it.

When I am not at work you will find me spending time with my wonderful family. My wife Trista also works at the College, and we find Williamsburg a great place to raise a family. Our children are 2 and 5 and keep us busy 24/7. I enjoy cooking (especially BBQ), going to the beach, meeting new people and mowing the lawn...well maybe not that last one.
