Dave Gilbert
Associate Dean of Students
Director of Student Conduct
William and Mary was a homecoming for me, as I was raised in Virginia Beach and attended Kempsville High School. Prior to becoming part of the Tribe, I worked as Assistant Dean of Students at UNC Chapel Hill and as an Area Director in housing at UNC and Tulane University. I am a proud Hokie, where I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and English. I also hold a Masters in Higher Education from Florida State University and a Law degree from North Carolina Central University.
When not working, I am chasing after my two girls and trying to fit in quality family time. As for hobbies, who has hobbies when they have two small children? That said, I do enjoy my college football and basketball and my lifelong love affair with the Boston Red Sox (finally, it's paying off!).
I enjoy my work with students, even during the sometimes-difficult conduct process. Having grown a great deal in college, I believe the student experience can be a time of tremendous development for students, and I am pleased that I have the ability to work with dynamic and energetic students every day.
