Exceptions to W&M Promise Tuition Guarantee

The William & Mary Promise offers in-state students a guaranteed tuition for the expected duration of their career at the College, as determined at the implementation of the Promise. If a student believes that he or she has circumstances which would lead to an exception of this policy, he or she must petition the Promise Review Committee. Common exceptions include medical withdrawals, internship opportunities and transfer students who lack the prerequisites for their intended major. The Committee will also hear petitions for other extraordinary circumstances. If you have any questions regarding the petitioning process, please feel free to contact the Dean of Students Office.
