Exceptions to W&M Promise Tuition Guarantee

The William & Mary Promise offers in-state students a guaranteed tuition for the expected duration of their career at the College, as determined at the implementation of the Promise. If a student believes that they have circumstances which would lead to an exception of this policy, they must petition the Promise Review Committee. Common exceptions include medical withdrawals, internship opportunities and transfer students who lack the prerequisites for their intended major. The Committee will also hear petitions for other extraordinary circumstances to the policy. The petition should be submitted to the Dean of Students Office, Campus Center Room 109. If you have any questions regarding the petitioning process, please feel free to contact a staff member in the Dean of Students Office.
