About Me

I am a native of Brooklyn, NY, but was raised in Puerto Rico. Prior to joining the William & Mary family, I worked for the Department of the Army as an Education Services Specialist and Guidance Counselor. I also served in the United States Army.

Throughout my career, I have experienced the pleasure of working and interacting with different populations of students. I consider myself an advocate for students who never had the opportunity to pursue higher education because they were challenged with decisions that affected the outcome of their lives. Due to my own experiences, I am familiar with the feelings of frustration and despair some students encounter along the way.I believe access to a solid education provides students with the opportunity to succeed in life and that as higher education professionals, we have an impact on the lives and experiences of our students.

Every student is different, unique, and important. Therefore, I treat each and every one of my students with respect. I strive to develop relationships with my students that allow me to understand their specific needs and what they seek to gain from their educational experience. I like to foster an environment that assists students in effectively navigating through their academics, as well as, imparting wisdom and accountability. My intention is that each student I come in contact with becomes well-rounded, feels empowered to think independently and grows intellectually.

I hold an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in Adult Education. Currently, I am pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education Administration at the College of William & Mary. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and watching football.
