About Us

Who we are and what we do.

In the Office of the Dean of Students, our foremost concern is your well-being and the well-being of your peers. It’s as simple as that. We know that you worked hard to get to William & Mary and that you’re working even harder now that you've arrived. It’s our job to ensure that William & Mary is working for you.

The extent to which you will interact with our office depends on who you are and what you need. You will, at the very least, experience our Orientation Program when you first arrive at the College. But from there it’s really up to you. There are some students we never see again. There are others who pop in regularly to ask us a question, make a comment, or just say, “Hello.” Most students, however, see us sporadically, usually when they have a problem. That’s totally fine! Our office strives to be the ideal support system. We’re here whenever you need us, but when you don’t, we stay out of your way.
