The Creative Services team hosts monthly Basic Training in Cascade, and bi-monthly Advanced Training by demand.
Basic Training
Topics covered in Basic Training:
- Introduction to web terminology, the W&M web presence in general, and Cascade
- Building and editing folders and pages (includes linking to documents and adding images)
- Publishing and deleting
- Listing Pages (directories, news, events, and announcements)
- Optimization (shortcuts in Cascade)
To participate in training, you must:
- Have your Cascade manager (see below) set up your permissions in Cascade in advance of training. If your department/office is not part of one of the units below, have the head of your department/office email the [[creative, Creative Services team]] to set up your permissions.

- Tuesday, February 14, 9am - 11am in Blow 311
- Wednesday, March 21, 9:30am - 11:30am in Blow 311
- Thursday, April 19, 1pm - 3pm in Blow 311
- Tuesday, May 22, 2pm - 4pm in Blow 311
Advanced Training (by demand)
Note: Only users who have received basic training may participate in Advanced Training.
Topics covered in Advanced Training often include (but are not limited to):
- Clean URLs and redirect pages
- Borrowing and copying assets
- Multimedia
- Special page types
- The Right Hand Column (widgets, listboxes, related links)
To participate in training, you must:
- Be comfortable with the topics covered in Basic Training.
- Register online.
- Optional: Email the [[creative, Creative Services team]] with specific topics you wish to cover in training.
Fall 2011 Advanced Training dates:
- Thursday, February 23, 1:30pm - 3:30pm in Blow 311
- Wednesday, April 11, 10am - 12noon
