Connect Majors to Careers
If you need help choosing classes or seek academic advising, please contact your faculty advisor or the Office of Academic Advising.
We encourage students to explore majors based on personal interests and strengths. Majors rarely limit career choices, but they may inform your initial career path. The Career Center offers a variety of opportunities throughout the year to help you explore career options and learn how to connect the skills gleaned in your major to your future job or graduate school choices:
- Resources as you consider majors
- The Compass Program for freshmen and sophomores offers more than 20 opportunities each semester for underclassmen to connect majors to careers, prepare for the career search, and explore career options
- Students looking to commit significant time to career development should consider the Major and Career Exploration (MACE) seminar series, offered for freshmen and sophomores each semester for six weeks
First-years and sophomores exploring majors and career options are encouraged to make an appointment with Ashleigh Brock, Assistant Director for First-Year and Sophomore Initiatives.
