Hello Tribe parents,
Thank you for your interest in the Compass Program and Career Center websites. I hope you find the information about Compass helpful and reassuring as your freshman or sophomore explores academic and career options. The Cohen Career Center is committed to maximizing the experience of undergraduate students and assuring their success both during and after college. The Compass Program supports the unique career development needs of freshmen and sophomore students at William and Mary. The workshops, events, and opportunities featured in Compass have been designed intentionally to help underclassmen meet specific goals. Freshmen and sophomores who participate in Compass programming will:
- learn to use the variety of tools and resources available to them in their major and career exploration;
- increase self-knowledge and confidence to inform academic and career decision-making;
- and build momentum for independent action in the career development process.
At the Career Center, we understand that each William and Mary student is unique and will develop a career trajectory different from his or her classmates. The Compass Program features a diverse menu of options freshmen and sophomores can mix and match to develop the skills and knowledge needed for informed decision-making. Encourage your student to explore the many options available through Compass, and through the Career Center at large, to build a strong foundation for the future.
If you have any questions about the Compass Program, [[ambrock,please contact me]]. I also encourage you to check out the Parent resource page of our Career Center website, where you can explore our student outcomes database to see what William and Mary students are doing after college.
