Recruiting Events

In the interest of providing various opportunities for students and employers to meet each other, the Cohen Career Center manages a variety of large scale recruiting events. The career fairs and interview days happen either on-campus in Williamsburg, Virginia or on-location in various metro areas. Employers are integral to these events and are encouraged to ask questions and/or register. Below is a list of recruiting events that typically happen each year for reference.

Fall Career & Internship Fair -- September 15, 2017

The fair is an excellent way for companies and organizations to meet students, get their brand name out on campus, speak with interested students of all class years and majors, and gain interest for internships, externships, leadership programs, and full-time positions. This event encourages employers of all industries to attend.

Fall Diversity Brunch --  September 15, 2017

This event falls on the same day as the Spring Career & Internship Fair. It is an opportunity for students and employers to enjoy a continental breakfast while mingling prior to the official start of the fair. Registration includes 2 representatives from each employer and is a separate cost from the career fair. This is event is limited to a smaller number of employers and focuses on the opportunity for employers and students of diverse backgrounds to network and learn about each.

Meet the Firms Friday -- Friday, September 22, 2017

A symposium centered around the career fields of consulting and accounting. This event includes an industry-specific career fair and panels for consulting and accounting. While the event is focused on accounting and consulting careers, it is not limited by major or class year and all students interested in the fields are welcome to attend. It is held at the Mason School of Business.

Career & Internship Fair -- Fall & Spring
The fair is an excellent way for companies and organizations to meet students at the beginning of the recruiting cycle, get their brand name out on campus, speak with interested students of all class years and majors, and gain interest for internships and full-time positions. This event encourages employers of all industries to attend.
Meet the Firms Friday -- Fall

A symposium centered around the career fields of consulting and accounting. This event includes an industry-specific career fair and panels for consulting and accounting. Graduate & Professional School Fair -- Fall
This fair is designed for admissions representatives from graduate school programs to recruit prospective students for their schools/programs. Fair is open to students of all majors and class year as well as alumni.This event is not intended to address employers' hiring needs, but more for graduate schools recruiting students for their programs.
Fall Recruiting Consortium -- Fall in New York, NY
A consortium of five schools (William & Mary, Bard College, Swarthmore College, Connecticut College, and Wesleyan University) plans an annual Interview Day that is held in midtown Manhattan. This event allows employers to recruit and interview students for internships and full-time job opportunities. It's a convenient way to hire top notch students without having to travel to Williamsburg. Students must be from one of the member schools in order to participate.
NonProfit and Government Career Expo -- Spring in Washington, DC
A consortium of schools (William & Mary, NYU, UVA, Richmond, Georgetown, and Swarthmore College) plans an annual career expo that is held in Washington, D.C. This event allows employers from a wide range of fields in the government and nonprofit sectors to market their internships and full-time job opportunities to students and degreed alumni from the consortium schools. Many attendees have secured internships and full-time employment as a result of this annual event. Only students or degreed alumni from member schools are invited to attend.
K-12 Education Interview Day -- Spring
An event that allows school districts to interview students and degreed alumni who are seeking employment in a K-12 school setting. This event is not a fair -- recruiters should plan to spend the majority of the day interviewing interested candidates.
