CAA men's basketball championship fan guide

Join the March to Charleston. After posting its fifth-straight season with double-digit CAA wins, the William & Mary men's basketball team is the No. 4 seed in the 2018 CAA Men's Basketball Championship.

W&M, which finished the regular season at 18-11 overall and 11-7 in league play, faces No. 5 seed Towson in the second quarterfinal on Sunday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m. The four-day tournament will be held March 3-6 at the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, S.C. Below is a fan guide with all the information for the Tribe faithful leading up to the tournament.

North Charleston Coliseum clear bag policy

Effective Jan. 5, 2018, the North Charleston Coliseum instituted a clear bag policy that will be in place of the CAA Tournament. The W&M Alumni Association will have clear bags available for fans at its pregame events. There will be additional security at the North Charleston Coliseum for the tournament, so fans are asked to arrive early.

W&M Alumni Association gatherings in Charleston

On Saturday afternoon, Tribe fans are invited to CAA Tournament Tip-off Luncheon hosted by the W&M Alumni Association at the Courtyard Marriott (125 Calhoun Street in Charleston). The event begins at 11:30 a.m., and will feature special guest W&M Director of Athletics Samantha K. Huge.  Register now or on site, and the cost, which includes lunch, is $10. Register for the event with the W&M Alumni Association.
 
The Alumni Association will also host pregame gatherings prior to each Tribe game in the tournament, beginning on Sunday, March 4, at noon before the quarterfinals. The events will be held in Crystal A at the Charleston Marriott (170 Lockwood Boulevard) and include an offering complimentary hors d'oeuvres with a cash bar. Tribe fans will also have the chance to see off the team to the North Charleston Coliseum. Register for the event with the W&M Alumni Association.

Tickets

Fans can purchase tickets through TicketMaster. Fans can visit TicketMaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000 for both full tournament book and single session tickets. The ticket book that includes all nine games and five sessions are available for as low as $80, and single session tickets are on sale for $10. CAA Championship Ticket Information is available online. The Tribe sections at the North Charleston Coliseum are 134, 134R, 230 and 232. Tribe fans that have not yet purchased tickets are encourage to find seats close to these sections. Single-game tickets may be purchased online.

Free tickets for W&M students

W&M students will be admitted for free with student ID to all Tribe games at the CAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Show your W&M ID at the W&M Will Call table in the south lobby entrance of the coliseum. The will call table will open an hour and a half before tip-off of each Tribe game of the championship. CAA students can also purchase a single session ticket for $7 with valid CAA School ID on the day of game. Students will need to pay regular adult prices if he/she plans to attend a session other than their school's.

The first 82 students from each institution will be provided a color coded wristband which will allow them to sit in the risers in the end zones for their game only.  Any students above and beyond the initial 82 will be seated in either Sections 208 or 218.  Once the courtside students game is over, we will ask the students sitting courtside to move to sections 102 or 122 to watch the other game of the session.

Television

CBS Sports Network will televise the 2018 CAA Tournament semifinals and championship, while first-round games and quarterfinals will air on CAA.TV. The semifinals will be at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5, on CBS Sports Network with CAA Championship game set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday night on CBS Sports Network. CBS Sports Network is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DIRECTV Channel 221 and DISH Network Channel 158.  For more information, including a full programming schedule and how to get CBS Sports Network, go to www.cbssportsnetwork.com. CAA.TV

CAA.TV will broadcast the opening two rounds of the CAA Championship. CAA.TV will carry every postgame press conference as well as the Championship game celebration/press conferences live for free in HD.

Audio

Fans can follow W&M on the Tribe Radio Network with Jay Colley and Charlie Woollum on the call. The Tide 92.3 FM in Williamsburg is the flagship station of the Tribe Radio Network. The broadcast will also be available online at TribeAthletics.com.
