4th annual #WMGoldRush set for Saturday

The William & Mary Athletics Department and Tribe basketball will host its annual Gold Rush Game on Saturday, Feb. 10, sponsored by For The Bold: The Campaign for William & Mary, in conjunction with W&M Charter Day. For the third-straight year, the basketball game will be integrated into the Charter Day activities as the Tribe hosts the Delaware at 2 p.m.
 
Gold Rush tickets are going fast but may be obtained by visiting TribeAthletics.com/GoldRushTix or calling (757) 221-3340. Box level tickets are $12 for youth, $14 for staff, military and seniors and $16 for adult tickets, while mezzanine seats are $10 for youth, $12 for staff, military and seniors and $14 for adult tickets. A large crowd is expected to attend, so attendees are encouraged to skip long lines by buy tickets ahead of time online, print tickets at home and enter the gates early. Gates open for fans at 12:30 p.m.
 
Along with creating an unforgettable atmosphere inside Kaplan Arena, Tribe Athletics wants to "PaktheKap" with gold-clad Tribe fans. As a result, 5,000 free T-shirts will once again be handed out to fans. For more information on the W&M's For the Bold campaign and powering the Tribe through scholarships, visit FortheBold.wm.edu.
 
Painting Kaplan Gold won't be the only promotion at the #WMGoldRush Game on Charter Day. At halftime, the Charter Day Diaper Derby returns. To enter for a chance to participate in the Diaper Derby, click here.
 
A pre-game only public reception will take place in the Person Room, beginning at 12:45 p.m. The reception is open to anyone 21 and over, and there will be a beer and wine available for purchase. Last service will be at 2 p.m. prior to tip-off.

Parking
Initially all parking will begin in the Kaplan Arena lot. Once the Kaplan Lot is full, parking staff will direct cars towards the following parking locations in consequential order once each lot becomes full. Shuttle van service will be available from each lot as necessary from designated pick-up and drop-off locations in each lot.

Open parking lots for #WMGoldRush (in rank order) include:

  • Parking Deck (located on Ukrop Way next to Parking Services)
  • Morton Parking Lot (located off Jamestown Road across from the Business School)
  • Stadium & Bryan Lot (located off Richmond Road)
  • School of Education Lots (located off Monticello and Mt. Vernon Avenues)
Student tickets
Due to the high demand for #WMGoldRush tickets, students must claim their free ticket and T-shirt voucher in advance to attend the game. Students can claim a ticket at Kaplan Arena from Monday, Feb. 5-9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  
Students who do not claim a ticket during the student window will be required to purchase a ticket. Tickets are subject to availability. Students will not be able to enter the arena with only their student ID.
 
Students will be able to enjoy a pregame birthday party in the Wightman Cup room featuring cake and pizza beginning at 12:45 p.m.
