WHRV's 'Another View' to discuss W&M's Lemon Project

Jody Allen, managing director and co-chair of the Lemon Project at William & Mary, and Robert Engs, consulting scholar of the Lemon Project, will appear on public radio’s “Another View” program on Friday.

The interviews, taped earlier in the fall with host Barbara Hamm Lee, will appear during the program’s noon broadcast on WHRV 89.5 FM. Allen is an adjunct assistant professor of history at the College. Engs, emeritus professor of history from the University of Pennsylvania, also serves as a visiting professor of history at William & Mary.

The Lemon Project, launched in 2009 following research by Engs, is a multiyear effort to better understand the role of race in the College's history, including William & Mary's own connections to slavery and race relations at the College from the end of the Civil War to date. The initiative is named after a slave called Lemon whom the College owned in the early 18th century.

In addition to the radio, the program is streamed online at www.anotherviewradio.org.
