South African Embassy official to visit W&M

The event is free and open to the public, and a reception in the new Sherman and Gloria H. Cohen Career Center will follow Moloto’s hour-long presentation.
"Two weeks ago the president of Gabon spoke at the College and now Mr. Moloto will be coming,” said Christiana Kallon ‘11, president of the African Cultural Society. “I'm glad that students and faculty at the College have an opportunity to hear what African leaders have to say."
Moloto whose areas of interest include South African foreign policy, development studies, and public administration and finance, will be giving a speech titled, “Celebrating Africa’s Achievements: The South African Story,” addressing the success of post-Apartheid South Africa.
Before becoming a government official, Moloto worked as a tutor and a junior lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has also spoken extensively on South Africa’s foreign policy direction and has published two of his speeches in academic journals.
iREP Africa Weekend is an event sponsored by African Cultural Society in order to further educate the campus and wider Williamsburg community about the vitality and richness of African culture.
"iREP Africa Weekend is just an opportunity to celebrate Africa,” said Kallon. “Despite the media's negative portrayal of the continent, there is alot to celebrate!"
