The William and Mary athletics department will honor long-time women's soccer head coach John Daly tomorrow night at halftime of the men's soccer game against North Carolina. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., October 14, at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg.

Daly became the ninth coach all-time in Division I to win 300 women's soccer matches when the Tribe downed Delaware, 2-1 in double-overtime, on October 3. Coaching legends Anson Dorrance of North Carolina, Len Tsantiris of Connecticut, and Jerry Smith of Santa Clara stand alongside Daly as the only coaches in Division I to reach the milestone while coaching at only one school.

In the midst of his 22nd year as the Tribe's head coach, Daly has a career-record of 303-120-37 (.699), and has the team this year in the hunt for its third-straight CAA regular-season crown at 10-4-1 (5-1 CAA). He became only the sixth coach in NCAA history to coach 450 games at one school earlier this season, and needs only two more conference victories to reach 100 career wins in the CAA.

The women's team, with Daly at the helm, will appear on national television for the first time ever later this week when it hosts conference-rival Virginia Commonwealth Thursday night, October 16, at 8 p.m. at Albert-Daly Field. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel (Channel 225 for Cox Digital subscribers in the Williamsburg area) as part of the NSCAA Game of the Week package.
