Rector's message on the president's contract

Rector Hank Wolf ’64, J.D. ‘66 sent the following message to the campus community on May 16 - Ed.

Dear Friends,

As we close another successful academic year during an extraordinary Commencement weekend, I write on behalf of the Board of Visitors to inform you of some very good news.
The Board of Visitors requested President Taylor Reveley continue to serve as President beyond the term of his initial contract in order to ensure the College has the benefit of his continued strong leadership for several more years.  I am delighted to announce that President Reveley has agreed to continue to lead this great university for at least three more years. The Board has unanimously approved an extension of President Reveley's contract through June 2013.

We are living through some very challenging economic times.  Despite the obvious challenges that come with a national economic crisis, William & Mary continues to do great things under the leadership of President Reveley. The Board believes that it is critical for the university to have the continuity of strong leadership that President Reveley can provide as we navigate through these difficult times.

The Board greatly appreciates the input and feedback that we received from many members of the College community as we considered William & Mary's leadership into the future. Below you will find a link to a press release with additional information. In the meantime, I thank each of you for your commitment to the College and send my best wishes for an enjoyable summer. Please know that our College remains in good hands.
