Alert System Error

Dear William & Mary Community –
Many of you on our Emergency Alert System have just received a correction regarding a notification from VIMS. As that correction stated, there has been NO emergency on the VIMS campus.
During testing this afternoon of their alert system, VIMS accidentally sent an active shooter emergency notification to their subscribers. When a correction notification was sent, it went to both main campus and VIMS subscribers, thus adding to the confusion.
We apologize for any concern this may have caused. Again, we confirm there has been no emergency.
