Message regarding Zachariah B. Faison

Vice President for Student Affairs Ginger Ambler sent the following message to the campus community Jan. 30. - Ed.

Dear William & Mary Community,

I write this afternoon with very sad news about a member of our student community.  Zachariah B. Faison, a Flex MBA student in the Mason School of Business, died on January 27 following a serious illness.

A native of Norfolk, VA, Zach worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a General Foreman Mechanical Operations in Portlock, Chesapeake, VA for 10 years. He graduated magna cum laude from Averett University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and according to those who knew him well, his being in graduate school at William & Mary “meant the world to him. He loved learning and new adventures and was looking forward to attending our Global Business Immersions Program.”  Zach was a devoted family man, and a proud member of the Haliwa Saponi Indian Tribe of Hollister, NC.

The following is information about upcoming gatherings to honor and remember Zach.  Both events will take place at Rock Church, 640 Kempsville, Rd, Virginia Beach, VA  23462.  Zach’s obituary is available online.
