Tropical Storm Andrea

The following are Tropical Storm Andrea updates from the William & Mary Emergency Management Team.- Ed.

The Williamsburg area is currently under a tornado watch. This means conditions are favorable for a tornado.  Heavy rain and high winds are also in the forecast.   If you hear the College’s emergency siren during this period, please take shelter in the lowest level of the closest building. Tune to your local weather station for current weather conditions.

Anna Martin, chair of William & Mary's Emergency Management Team, sent the following message regarding Tropical Storm Andrea to the campus community on June 6, 2013 - Ed.

The College is preparing our buildings and grounds for the arrival  of Tropical Storm Andrea. Williamsburg/James City County are forecast to be just outside the storm warning zone while York County is within the zone.  Andrea will be principally a rain event in Williamsburg with perhaps 3+ inches over the next 36 hours.  The heaviest rain is expected between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday.  

We will provide updates as changing conditions warrant.
