Road Closure on Ukrop Way
The following notice went out to the William & Mary and Williamsburg communities - Ed.
AFFECTED AREA: Ukrop Way between Yates Drive and McClurg Drive, on the campus of William & Mary
DATES: Monday, July 9 at 7 a.m.
Expected to reopen in 20 days or sooner if work completed
INFORMATION: Both the north and southbound lanes on Ukrop Way, between the intersections of Yates Drive and McClurg Drive, will be closed to install water lines for the new fraternity housing project. Detour signs will be posted diverting traffic to Brooks Street. During the closure, motorists from Yates Drive and northbound on Ukrop Way will be re-directed down Brooks Street to reach Richmond Road. Motorists from Richmond Road heading southbound on Ukrop Way will also be re-directed to Brooks Street to reach Jamestown Road. There will be no access to Ukrop Way from Dillard Street. >>Map of detour route (PDF)
The new fraternity housing project will comprise 12 buildings, including 11 houses and a multi-use facility along Ukrop Way across from William & Mary Hall. Facilities are scheduled to be open fall 2013.
