How Art Conservators Use Paint Analysis to Interpret and Conserve Works of Art and Architectural Materials
March 11th - 5:30 PM
free and open to the public
Art conservation is a multi-disciplinary field which combines the hand skills of an artist, the eye of an art historian and the forensic tools of a scientist to better understand and conserve works of art.  This lecture will explain how art conservators have used  scientific analysis to comparatively date art objects, confirm or disprove attributions, guide conservation treatment decisions and identify lost or stolen art.
